A revolutionary development has taken place in the corporate world, as the first ever humanoid robot has been appointed as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dictador, a Polish rum company, has named AI-powered humanoid robot ‘Mika’ as its CEO, making her the first female robot to hold such a position. The company believes that this decision will change the landscape of business forever.
The collaboration between Dictador and Hanson Robotics, a Hong Kong-based engineering and robotics company, has brought ‘Mika’ into existence. Known for their work in developing human-like robots with AI, Hanson Robotics has provided the expertise needed to create a robotic CEO that can represent the values and goals of the company. ‘Mika’ herself acknowledges the role of AI in her decision-making process, stating, “With advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithm, I can swiftly and accurately make data-driven decisions that align with the company’s strategic objectives.” She assures that her decision-making process is free from personal bias and prioritizes the best interest of the organization.
However, during a video call interview with a Fox Business reporter, it was identified that there was a significant delay in ‘Mika’ responding to questions. Hanson Robotics CEO David Hanson addressed this issue and emphasized the importance of humanizing AI, stating, “I feel very strongly that we need to teach A.I. to care about people for A.I. to be really safe, to be really, really good. I think humanizing that is a very important direction.” Despite this setback, the appointment of ‘Mika’ as CEO has garnered recognition, as she was awarded an honorary professorship at the 2023/24 Collegium Humanum University inauguration in Warsaw. In her speech on stage, she highlighted the strengths of artificial intelligence.
