The Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) is on a mission to strengthen digital security standards in Dubai. As part of their efforts, they have recently announced new features and updates to the RZAM cybersecurity application. The app was launched during the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) exhibition in March 2023.
DESC is committed to continually updating digital security and safety standards, and the RZAM app is a crucial part of their strategy to develop unconventional cybersecurity solutions. By enhancing the efficiency of the app and expanding its user base, DESC aims to advance Dubai’s position as a sustainable, safe, and trusted digital city.
The latest updates to the RZAM app make it accessible on various web browsers, including Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Edge. Additionally, users can download the app from the Chrome Web Store on their computers or from the App Store on their iPhones. The app also supports the Arabic language, making it even more effective.
What sets the RZAM app apart is its use of artificial intelligence (AI) to protect internet users from malicious and real-time phishing sites. This ensures a safe and secure internet experience for users. Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, Chief Executive of DESC, expressed his pride in the development of RZAM, stating, “These dedicated efforts contribute to the advancement of technological security and reflect our commitment to national innovation.”
Al Shaibani went on to highlight the importance of securing Dubai’s digital future and establishing a highly reliable cyberspace for the free flow of information. This aligns with the vision of Digital Dubai to become a world-class digital city. The RZAM app plays a crucial role in achieving this vision by continuously assessing webpages for malicious content, unsafe browsing addresses, and online phishing sites.
The app scans website links and promptly flags any potential threats, sending warnings to users and blocking suspicious sites. Its AI-driven approach ensures unmatched speed and accuracy in flagging unsafe sites and identifying evolving threats. By continuously updating data, the RZAM app remains at the forefront of online protection.
Moreover, RZAM is a locally developed solution that reflects DESC’s commitment to creating a safe, secure, and reliable trusted cyberspace. It reinforces Dubai’s position as a leader in cybersecurity, in line with the Dubai Cyber Security Strategy 2023’s guiding principle of “Free Flow of Information.”
The application has a wide range of uses, serving both public and private sector organizations as well as individual citizens. It also supports the growth of the knowledge-based economy, encouraging investment in the digital economy, and solidifying Dubai’s position as a global, digital, and secure hub for the economy of the future.
With its advanced features and commitment to innovation, the RZAM app is ensuring a secure and trusted browsing experience for users in Dubai. As DESC continues to prioritize digital security, Dubai is well on its way to becoming a world-class digital city, setting an example for other cities around the globe.
