Dubai Accelerator Program Embraces AI Innovators

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, recently met with participants of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence’s (DCAI) accelerator program. During the meeting, he emphasized Dubai’s commitment to welcoming AI entrepreneurs and innovators from around the world and providing them with the best platform for creating globally impactful products and solutions.

The accelerator program, which has attracted startups from 30 countries, is focused on harnessing AI technologies to support government agencies in preparing for upcoming transformations in vital sectors. Sheikh Hamdan expressed Dubai’s dedication to keeping pace with the latest future trends and its goal of becoming a global hub for AI applications in sectors such as healthcare, education, and logistics.

In his words, “Dubai continues on this path by strengthening its position as an international testbed for ideas, concepts, innovations, tools, and programs to anticipate the future, including promising AI technologies that can be harnessed to serve humanity.”

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of attracting the best minds in the business and developing the necessary expertise to keep pace with rapid transformations. The DCAI accelerator program is working in collaboration with various Dubai government entities to develop innovative solutions and applications that employ AI tools in government services, media, and communications.

This initiative is part of the larger vision of the DCAI, which aims to train 1,000 government employees from over 30 government entities on the use of AI. The goal is to raise the productivity of government employees and improve government services through pilot projects and the implementation of AI applications.

In addition to the accelerator program, Sheikh Hamdan announced the upcoming Dubai Assembly for Generative AI, which will take place in October 2023. The assembly will bring together key stakeholders, including ministers, officials, CEOs, experts, policymakers, investors, and academics, to highlight the importance of adopting AI tools for the betterment of the government and private sectors.

With these initiatives, Dubai is solidifying its position as a leading global destination for AI innovation and entrepreneurship. Its commitment to embracing future trends and attracting top talent reflects the emirate’s dedication to creating a better future for all of humanity. As Sheikh Hamdan said, “Designing the future is a specialist domain that Dubai has mastered over five decades.”
