Singapore - Be prepared to welcome a new era of sustainable and resilient data centers, as intelligent power management company Eaton collaborates with Red Dot Analytics (RDA) to develop artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled solutions. This partnership aims to improve data center operational resilience, energy efficiency, and overall sustainability. Beginning in April 2024, the collaboration will leverage Eaton’s digital expertise in data center power and infrastructure management with RDA’s Cognitive Digital Twin (DT) technology.
Keeping up with the rapidly growing power and data demands of the digital economy, the collaboration between Eaton and RDA will focus on the development of AI-driven automation capabilities, optimization, and energy efficiency technologies. Richard Farrell, APAC Regional Director of Cybersecurity, Digitalization, and Data Center at Eaton, emphasized the importance of reliable and efficient data center infrastructure in meeting the rising computing power needs. “Our collaboration with Red Dot Analytics will enable us to co-develop modern, AI-driven data center solutions that will help operators support the rising demand for computing power while meeting sustainability and energy-efficiency requirements,” Farrell explained.
Henry Xu, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Red Dot Analytics, highlighted the challenges faced by the industry in achieving an optimal balance between performance, resilience, and sustainability, especially in an environment with high rack power density. “Harnessing the full power of AI and DT technology will be a necessity across the full life cycle of data centers, from AI-driven design validation to real-time operational optimization,” Xu stated. The collaboration between Eaton and RDA will pave the way for innovative AI-driven use cases for data centers, revolutionizing the way businesses manage their technology assets and resource consumption.
This collaboration builds upon Eaton’s existing research collaborations, such as the Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed (STDCT) project. As a consortium member of the STDCT project, Eaton is actively working towards the development of commercially viable, innovative, and sustainable cooling solutions for tropical data centers. With its commitment to supporting the resilience of mission-critical infrastructure, Eaton aims to ensure that sustainable, efficient, and cost-competitive solutions are accessible to all.
As part of the collaboration, Eaton and RDA will initiate joint pilot projects within the industry to test and encourage the adoption of these new solutions. The goal is to improve the sustainability and resilience of AI data centers, making them more reliable and efficient in meeting the rapidly growing power and data needs of modern society.
