Revolutionizing Stroke Treatment with AI-Enhanced CT Scans

CerebraAI, a neuroradiology software company focused on acute ischemic stroke detection, is revolutionizing stroke treatment with their AI-enhanced CT scans. Ischemic strokes, which account for 87% of all strokes, often go undiagnosed, leading to a high risk of long-term disability or even death. Less than 20% of stroke patients in the US receive treatment primarily due to the lack of hospitals equipped for acute ischemic stroke detection. To address this diagnostic gap, CerebraAI is developing a groundbreaking approach using personalized AI-generated images of the patient’s pseudo-healthy brain to enhance non-contrast CT scans.

NCCT scans, which are readily available in 94% of US hospital emergency departments, are currently the standard of care for diagnosing potential stroke patients. However, they have low sensitivity to ischemic stroke and can only be accurately diagnosed by highly trained neuroradiologists using advanced imaging methods such as CTA, CTP, and MRI. This poses a significant challenge as there is a narrow window of four and a half hours for stroke treatment from the time of incident. CerebraAI’s AI-powered software aims to address this challenge by improving the detection of ischemic strokes in NCCT scans.

Doszhan Zhussupov, the Founder and CEO of CerebraAI, explains the company’s mission: “CerebraAI’s mission is to enhance existing hardware in hospital emergency departments without capital investment by unlocking the full potential of non-contrast CT brain imaging with a technology that is as sensitive as an MRI in detecting acute ischemic strokes.” By analyzing NCCT brain scans and detecting tissue abnormalities, CerebraAI’s algorithm can provide physicians with valuable information for rapid diagnosis, triage, and treatment of acute ischemic stroke victims.

CerebraAI has already made significant progress in their research and development efforts. They have analyzed over 130,000 patients in Kazakhstan and are currently working towards introducing their medical imaging software to the US market. As part of their US market entry, CerebraAI has joined the Silkroad Innovation Hub in Silicon Valley, a community that supports entrepreneurs from Central Eurasia to establish or expand their ventures in Silicon Valley and the US market.

“The new Silkroad Innovation Hub takes this legacy forward by creating professional inroads for entrepreneurs, founders, startups, and talented individuals from Central Asia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Mongolia straight into Silicon Valley,” explains Asror Arabjanov, co-founder of the Silkroad Innovation Hub. “CerebraAI is making a meaningful difference in serving humanity with their novel approach to acute ischemic stroke detection. They are pioneering a new future in emergency care medical imaging diagnostics.”

CerebraAI’s deep learning model has received recognition and accolades, including being ranked among the top five global projects for diagnosing brain diseases by StartUs Insights. The company has also joined prestigious startup ecosystems such as Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, NVIDIA Inception Program, and MedTech Innovators.

CerebraAI’s mission to close the diagnostic gap and improve stroke treatment is making waves in the medical field. With their AI-enhanced CT scans, they aim to provide hospitals and physicians with a powerful tool that can significantly improve patient outcomes. As CerebraAI continues to develop and expand its software, it has the potential to transform stroke treatment and save countless lives.
