The council, which is composed of registered nurses (RNs) from leading healthcare systems and digital healthcare enterprises, will play a crucial role in shaping Hippocratic AI’s Large Language Model (LLM) for healthcare and ensuring its readiness for deployment.
One of the major challenges facing the healthcare industry is the shortage of healthcare workers. The World Health Organization predicts a global shortfall of 10 million health workers by 2030, and the effects of this shortage are already being felt by patients and providers. Research has consistently shown that nurse staffing ratios are associated with patient safety. As the number of patients per nurse increases, patient morbidity and mortality also increase. Hippocratic AI is developing the industry’s first safety-focused Large Language Model designed specifically for healthcare. The model is trained on healthcare-specific vocabulary and prioritizes reinforcement learning with human feedback through healthcare professionals.
