CyberLink and UNIONCOMMUNITY Collaborate to Enhance Security with Facial Recognition Technology

Today, CyberLink Corp., a leading provider of AI facial recognition technology, announced its collaboration with SOUTH KOREAN COMPANY UnionCommunity. This collaboration integrates CyberLink’s renowned FaceMe® facial recognition technology into UnionCommunity’s server-based authentication solution, Ubio-ezPass. Ubio-ezPass is currently being used by a major South Korean financial institution and is expanding to other insurance and securities companies that require two-factor authentication for identity verification.

By using FaceMe®'s facial recognition engine, Ubio-ezPass provides enhanced security measures through two-factor authentication. This not only reduces the risk of password theft but also addresses the security challenges faced by remote workers in safeguarding personal and corporate data. Through its cross-platform support and rapid recognition advantages, Ubio-ezPass allows financial institutions to achieve dual-factor authentication objectives, upgrading their information security architecture and enhancing security levels.

Ubio-ezPass introduces dual-factor authentication by requiring users to verify their identity not only with passwords but also with their computer or mobile device’s camera for secure facial recognition. The system leverages FaceMe®'s facial recognition and anti-spoofing technology to provide a fast, simple, and secure two-factor authentication solution. With Active Directory, Single Sign-On, and HR attendance management system functionality, Ubio-ezPass offers an enterprise-friendly solution.

The use of facial recognition technology is crucial for ensuring the security of personal and corporate information, especially for employees working in various locations such as cafes, homes, and shared offices. Ubio-ezPass utilizes FaceMe to detect user activity through the computer’s built-in camera or an external webcam, automatically logging out when the user is away. If an unauthorized individual’s face is detected attempting to access the computer, the system issues an immediate warning and logs out.

FaceMe®'s facial recognition engine boasts an impressive accuracy rate of up to 99.83% and has received certifications from organizations such as the Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States. It has also achieved a remarkable 100% anti-spoofing performance in iBeta PAD (Presentation Attack Detection) Level 2 international certification and secured the top position in the Face Analysis Technology Evaluation (FATE) by NIST, demonstrating its ability to withstand various photo and video spoofing attacks.

Mei Guu, President of CyberLink Business Unit 2, expressed excitement about enhancing the security of internal authentication for the banking industry through the implementation of a two-factor authentication solution. Guu believes that this collaboration with UNIONCOMMUNITY is a manifestation of technological innovation and a fundamental measure in preventing financial incidents. The innovative application of facial recognition technology is expected to prevent financial fraud and can also be expanded to other government agencies and enterprises, strengthening identity verification and access control mechanisms and effectively reducing cybersecurity risks.

With this collaboration, CyberLink and UNIONCOMMUNITY are working together to provide seamless and secure two-factor authentication for the banking, financial services, and insurance industries. The integration of FaceMe®'s facial recognition technology into Ubio-ezPass enhances the security of identity verification and access control mechanisms, ensuring the protection of sensitive information. By implementing advanced facial recognition solutions, organizations can significantly reduce the risk of cybersecurity breaches and financial fraud. The collaboration between CyberLink and UNIONCOMMUNITY marks a significant step forward in enhancing banking security.
