With a vision to generate 40 percent of its gross domestic product through AI by 2031, the UAE is investing billions of dollars and attracting top scientists and startups to the region. The appointment of Omar Al Olama as the world’s first AI Minister of State in 2017 further emphasizes the strategic focus on AI development.
The ‘One Million AI Prompters’ initiative is a pivotal step in this journey. Prompt engineering is the key to unlocking the full potential of generative AI. He stressed the importance of practical prompt engineering skills in enhancing not only the workforce but also the overall quality of life through AI applications.
To inaugurate the ‘One Million AI Prompters’ initiative, Dubai recently hosted the first Global Prompt Engineering Championship. This prestigious event showcased the broad applicability of AI tools by including categories beyond traditional coding, such as literature and art. Participants demonstrated the vast potential of AI prompts in various domains, further igniting curiosity and innovation.
By investing in AI prompt engineering and fostering a culture of collaboration and curiosity, Dubai is positioning itself as a leading AI hub.
