On August 13th, Google will be hosting their highly-anticipated “Made by Google” event, where they are expected to unveil the Pixel 9 series smartphones. This event will also serve as a platform for Google to showcase their next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) features and provide an update on the Android 15 operating system. Additionally, there are rumors that Google will introduce new ecosystem devices such as the Pixel Watch, Pixel Buds, and possibly even their next-generation foldable device.
The event, which will be a combination of an in-person gathering and a live stream on Google’s official YouTube channel, is already generating significant excitement among tech enthusiasts. The Pixel 9 series will undoubtedly be the highlight of the event. In a teaser video, Google has given us a glimpse of the upcoming smartphones, showcasing a new design language that features a flat frame design with a floating-island style rear camera bump. Unlike previous years, Google may introduce more than two smartphones in the Pixel 9 series, including the standard Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Reports suggest that while the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro will come with displays of the same size, the Pixel 9 Pro XL will have a larger screen. Furthermore, Google may also incorporate the Pixel Fold, their book-style foldable smartphone, into the Pixel 9 series under the name Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the Pixel 9 series will be the integration of AI features. In the teaser video, Google hints at “Magic” coming to the Pixel 9 series, alluding to the Gemini AI-powered features showcased at the Google I/O developers conference last month. These features may include spam call detection using on-device AI processing and Gemini Live, among others.
In addition to the Pixel 9 series, Google is also expected to introduce the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 at the event. The Pixel Watch 3 series will likely offer different display options, including an XL model with a larger dial and display. As for the Pixel Buds Pro 2, while they may not bring major upgrades, they are expected to feature improved Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and AI-powered features such as real-time translation compatibility with Pixel smartphones.
Furthermore, Google will provide details about the highly-anticipated Android 15 operating system. The Android 15 OS, which was previewed at the Google I/O conference, has been in beta and is expected to make its official debut with the Pixel 9 series. This OS will bring significant changes, including an improved user interface, satellite messaging, enhanced near field communication (NFC) for contactless payments, and native support for Google AI features powered by Gemini. Users can anticipate an enhanced and exclusive Gemini AI app and Circle to Search features.
The “Made by Google” event on August 13th promises to be a captivating showcase of Google’s latest innovations. With the introduction of the Pixel 9 series and its advanced AI capabilities, along with the unveiling of ecosystem devices and the Android 15 operating system, Google is set to make a significant impact on the tech landscape. As the event approaches, tech enthusiasts will eagerly await the official announcements and will be eager to get their hands on these cutting-edge devices and features.
