Dubai to Host Groundbreaking AI Retreat

Dubai is set to host a groundbreaking event called the “AI Retreat,” which aims to bring together over 1,000 AI experts, business leaders, and tech giants to discuss the future of artificial intelligence. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, this event is the first of its kind and is expected to make significant contributions to the development and adoption of AI globally.

The AI Retreat, organized by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the National Program for Artificial Intelligence, will take place on June 11 at the Museum of the Future. It is part of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence (DUB.AI), an ambitious initiative aimed at positioning Dubai as a global AI hub and driving forward human advancement.

The retreat will feature key sessions, panel discussions, workshops, and roundtable discussions focused on four key themes: Funding & Financial, Infrastructure, Data Enablement, and Talent Development. These topics are crucial in addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by AI and will lay the foundation for AI adoption across all sectors.

One of the main objectives of the AI Retreat is to foster direct and open communication between leadership and both the public and private sectors. This collaboration will enable the sharing of goals, creative ideas, innovative projects, best practices, and success stories. Ultimately, the aim is to inspire progress in the field and drive positive change for economies and societies.

His Excellency Omar Sultan AlOlama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, expressed the importance of identifying AI opportunities early and accelerating the development of solutions that contribute to a better future. He highlighted that the UAE, under the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has been at the forefront of AI adoption and development.

“The AI Retreat provides an integrated set of pillars to position Dubai as a global destination for AI innovations that drive development, support the digital economy, and enhance the nation’s readiness for the future,” said AlOlama. He also emphasized that the UAE has been a leader in facilitating international partnerships to unlock the potential of AI.

The AI Retreat is a vital part of the DUB.AI plan, launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed in April. This plan focuses on leveraging technology, particularly AI, to enhance the quality of life. With a strong emphasis on AI governance and its deployment in vital sectors, the plan aims to accelerate the adoption of AI applications. This will contribute to Dubai’s economic objectives, including a projected annual boost of AED 100 billion and a 50 percent increase in productivity.

The AI Retreat is poised to be a significant event in the AI community, attracting leaders and experts from all over the world. Through collaborative efforts and the exchange of ideas, this retreat has the potential to shape and develop strategies that harness the full power of AI. With Dubai’s commitment to becoming a global AI hub, the retreat will play a crucial role in driving AI innovation, supporting the digital economy, and ensuring readiness for the future.
