Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications companies, has forged a long-term partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate cloud adoption and deploy generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) solutions in the country. This collaboration will provide Airtel customers with cutting-edge cloud solutions from Google, as well as drive the development of industry-leading AI/ML solutions.

The alliance between Bharti Airtel and Google Cloud aims to tap into the large and rapidly growing Indian public cloud services market, which is projected to reach $17.8 billion by 2027 according to IDC. Additionally, Airtel plans to offer a suite of cloud-managed services to its vast customer base of over 2,000 large enterprises and one million emerging businesses.
Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, highlighted the partnership’s goal of enhancing Airtel’s customer experiences through the exploration and development of transformative solutions.
To support its cloud-based solutions business, Airtel has established a managed services center in Pune, India. With over 300 experts being trained as champions of Google Cloud services, Airtel is positioning itself to deliver world-class tech solutions and address the evolving needs of its customers.
In addition to cloud services, Airtel has also developed an end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solution tailored for the utility sector. This solution combines connectivity, Google Cloud services, and application software into a comprehensive offering.
