The anticipation is building as the world’s biggest AI prompt challenge, the Global Prompt Engineering Championship, is set to take place on May 20-21 in Dubai. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, this championship aims to unleash AI creativity and innovation in various fields. With a total prize fund of AED 1 million, 30 participants from around the world will compete across three main categories: Art, Literature, and Coding.
The Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), is organizing this prestigious event. Thousands of entries from approximately 100 countries were submitted, and the judges have selected the top participants to showcase their skills on the global stage.
In the art category, judges include Benedetta Ghione from Art Dubai, Saeed Kharbash from Dubai Culture, and Mazen Abu Najm from Microsoft. In the literature category, the judges are Mustafa Al Rawi from International Media Investments (IMI), Ahlam Al Bolooki from Emirates Literature Foundation, and Ramesh Chander from Google. The coding category judges are Ashraf Khan from IBM, Abdul Rahman Al-Mahmoud from the UAE Artificial Intelligence Office, and Ahmed El Sayed from Google.
Saeed Al Falasi, the Director of Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, highlighted the significance of hosting this championship in Dubai. He emphasized the importance of nurturing promising talents in generative AI and believes that this competition provides a global platform for participants to showcase their skills and abilities. The competition has garnered significant global interest, with entries pouring in from diverse sectors like manufacturing, science, art, and culture, demonstrating the widespread impact of AI.
During the first day of the championship, participants will compete in four rounds within each category. Their performance will be evaluated based on speed, quality, innovation, creativity, and the accuracy of their content. The top three challengers from each category will then advance to the final stage on the second day, where they will vie for the coveted prize fund of AED 1 million.
